Angela Hope
Description / Biog

Included in my range of designs are individually hand-made, limited edition handbags using Irish or Welsh blanket fabrics, lined in velvet with Irish lavender within the lining. I graduated from Manchester University with a BA degree (Hons.) in Fashion/Textiles and I gained my first job within the industry designing lingerie for M&S. Various design jobs followed and at the same time I opened my own shops in Bristol and Bath designing and selling my own clothing range. I also taught on the Fashion BA degree course in Manchester and Bristol. I gained an MA in Marketing and spent many years working as a corporate fundraiser for a National charity and finally Marketing Director of a small research company. In 2000, I moved to Ireland to start a new life and wanted to return to my design roots. I started the ‘Angela Hope’ label in 2002 and have been enjoying it ever since! I get my inspiration from the wonderful fabrics I find from traditional mills here and in Wales and England. I love to play with colour, texture and form. I also enjoy working in collaboration with other designers to embellish the bags through weave, embroidery and even jewellery.
On October 11th 2006, I received Best Business of the Year Award in County Leitrim!!
