Description / Biog
I am a Damask weaver and textile artist, I was born in 1955 in northern Ångermanland where I am well known for church artefacts and tapestries. I weaves to order works of art and damask cloth, such as large tapestries, palls, chasubles, stoles, altar cloths, chalice cloths and burses.
I use damask technique in which both the background and pattern are created by the same system of threads. The result is a free pattern weave with a satin finish. I create the patterns to meet individual needs, drawing on history and emotions for my inspiration. Linen damask is well known, but other materials, such as silk and wool, also make beautiful woven fabrics.
