Description / Biog
At Derrycashel crafts, we produce handcrafted clock shapes from various hardwoods, mostly Irish timbers, finished with a polymer coating and fitted with a quartz movement. The shapes include Ireland, Harp, Claddagh, Celtic cross shamrock and many others. Thomas has worked in carpentry all his life. We built a new premises in 1993 and installed new machinery. We exhibited at Late Late Enterprise show in 1994, we won an award merit from Lakeland Dairies, and were runners up in the Rural Enterprise Awards for The Connacht Ulster region in 1994. The first shapes we used were inspired by Ireland. These our still our best sellers. The County shapes with a County crest are very popular abroad. We are currently working on extending our market both at home and abroad. We are also in the process of developing a new brochure and possibly our own website.
