Description / Biog

In 1995, I graduated with a Distinction in Sculpture from DLIADT and since then, I have pursued a sculpture career with a focus of producing large scale work for the public sector. I have won nearly ten commissions funded under the precent for art scheme across Ireland. For two years, I was a stone carving tutor at the Leitrim Sculpture Centre where I was able to share my love and experience of stone as a medium. I have come to the attention of David Shaw Smith, the producer of RTE''s series in the 1970s called ''Hands'' and I was featured in his latest book "Irish Traditional Hand Crafts". IN 2004, I showed a body of work entitled "It''s about time" at the Cat and the Moon Gallery in Sligo. This work demonstrated not only my proficiency and love of stone, but also displayed prints and drawings. This year, 2006, I have been invited to present my work in the RHA in a show curated by this year Irish Venice biennale representative, Mark Garry.
Watervessel and Offspring pieces are limited editions of 50 pieces. Every sculpture purchased is accompanied by a signed and dates certificate of authenticity.
