Description / Biog
After completing my family of 5 children I returned to higher education and successfully completed an HND in Fine Art. I have merged this experience with that of real life. My work conveys spirituality – I paint from the heart with a fervent energy and passion that mounts up like eagles wings and explodes with firework beauty, cascading onto the canvas expressing life! The heartbeat of my work is expressing the fullness of life, from there joy, peace and hope pulse through the canvas allowing the viewer to be totally engrossed.
My paintings reflect hope. Inspiration comes from the land/seascape and events that touch my heart; recently I have completed a body of work inspired by the twin tower disaster in New York (9/11).
Take My Tears: was inspired by the people who lost their lives and those left behind. In the midst of the fire ripping through the buildings there is an unseen presence. In this desperate situation they are not alone. The bowl was inspired by a sculpture of a chalice in St Paul’s Church (next to the twin towers). It was made using steel from the ruins of the Twin Towers. A gold hand representing God embraces the bowl – collecting every tear.
Beauty For Ashes: is remembering the past, living the present, and moving victoriously into the future. It is about rebirth, a new vision, a new season and a new hope. The dawning of a new and beautiful day arises from the ashes!
At present I am sourcing a relevant contact in New York so that I may give these two painting to the people of New York as an expression of HOPE.
