Description / Biog
I graduated with a ba hons photography from university of Westminster London in 1994 and have worked commercially in fashion advertising and design both in the studio and on location. Assignments have taken me to US ,south Africa and Europe on numerous occasions with my work appearing in several International publications including elle décor,the independent,new woman Australia and I have photographed for Clients such as Faberge and Bourjois Paris.
I returned to Ireland 4 years ago and have continued working commercially while also developing the fine art aspect of my work.My inspiration comes from the landscape and in particular the coastline. Texture, design and structure are key elements in my work resulting in images that represent a fresh and unique approach to the subject. My primary aim is to provide photographs that show an alternative way of seeing familiar objects and scapes. Since returning to Ireland I have used my technical knowledge and commercial experience to create a body of work that is both unique and aesthetic by maximizing my”in camera” technique and know how in order to minimize retouching work.I try to remain true to the subject without distorting it.
I have exhibited my work in Ireland on numerous occasions as a solo Artist and as part of group shows.My most recent solo exhibition {waters edge) was held at the cat and the moon gallery Sligo in june 2007.
