A major new initiative that will have considerable implications for budding entrepreneurs and those with creative ideas in the Leitrim area has just been announced. It is called the Source Creative Industries initiative and creative industries includes the areas of software & computer services, architecture, the performing arts, advertising & P.R., publishing, craft, design, fashion and the media so is applicable to a wide range of individuals.
The appointment of Jacinta Freeman as Project Officer and Lorna Hewson (who is from Ballinamore) as Project Co-ordinator will assist all interested in participating in various strands of the initiative. They will be able to discuss in detail any ideas they may have and guide them in the right direction. Jacinta has an honours Business degree and has 12 years Project Management experience in the private sector most recently working as a Senior Project Manager in the Computer Industry. Lorna is best known for her work with Arigna Leader on the Tourism Development programme for the past number of years.
The initiative will be delivered through the following actions:
§ Creation of an Ideas Database where the Creative Industries sector can research examples of creative innovations
§ Grant aid for the development of Creative Industries Workspaces
§ Development of a Shared Resource Facility
§ Training and Development Programmes
